HONDA CR-V
The new HONDA CR-V is made up of charming and catchy looks in its fifth-generation model. CR-V stands for Comfortable Runabout Vehicle. The Honda CR-V it is available in two versions; the first a Petrol or Diesel version and the second a hybrid version. The CR-V uses the Honda Civic platform with an SUV body design.
The Honda CR-V is available as a 5‐seater and 7‐seater. It joins the Honda family of MPVs which includes the Pilot, FR-V six‐seater and Odyssey.
The new HONDA CR-V is Honda's mid-range utility vehicle, slotting between the smaller Honda HR-V and the larger Honda Pilot. It has the new 7‐seat comfortable seat variation with more passenger room, and it also a 5-star safety award from Euro NCAP Safety Test.
Design
Honda has designed a world class level of refined lines and spacious interior. Also a newly designed 1.5 VTEC Turbo engine and a choice of manual or CVT-automatic transmissions. This model has some advanced features for safety, in-car connectivity, seat quality, ride and handling. Honda introduces a low-gravity chassis, which makes the car more comfortable and able to tackle any kind of road condition.

Honda offers comfortable and spacious boot space of 561 litres for all CR-V models. Fold down the rear seats and the CR-V luggage area is even more impressive, expanding to a huge 1,756 litres. The overall Honda CR-V length is 4600 mm for each CR-V. The total width excluding the door mirror is 1855 mm for each model. The total width with the door mirror folded in is around 1932 mm for all models; with the door mirrors out the width is 2,117.3 mm for all types of CR-V. Overall height-with shark fin antenna is 1,679 mm for model S, SE and SR and 1,689 mm for model EX, SE (7-seater) and SR (7-seater).
Safety Features
Honda CR-V has all range of advance safety features like collision mitigation breaking system, intelligent speed limiter, lane departure warning, intelligent adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation system, lane keeping assistant system and Traffic sign recognition.
- The collision mitigation breaking system is a futuristic and advanced level safety feature, which is alerts the driver of collision with another car or pedestrian(s);
- The intelligent speed limiter combines the existing adjustable speed limiter function with the traffic sign recognition system to automatically set the speed limit to that which the traffic recognition system detects;
- The Lane Departure Warning System indicates if the car de-rails from the track without indicating;
- The intelligent adaptive cruise control system alters the speed automatically when there is a suspected collision. When this happens the driver is also alerted;
- The Road Departure Mitigation System is an in-built camera which signals to the driver if the car is driving outside the lines. It uses the in built Electric Power Steering to apply subtle corrections to keep the vehicle in its lane;
- The Lane Keeping Assistant System helps the driver stay in the correct lane;
- Traffic Sign Recognition System analyses traffic signs and displays this information to driver through a visual display.
Colours
Honda has a variety of colors to choose from for its 7‐Seater CR-V. These are solid, pearlescent or metallic. As for most cars sold in the UK today the no-cost option (standard colour) is a solid Rallye Red.
The Special Pearl White Orchid, Crystal Black Pearl and Passion Red Pearl are great options for those looking for a more premium appearance.
Metallic is also a great choice and include; Lunar Silver, Urban Titanium, Golden Brown, Twilight Blue and Polished Metal.
Warranty and Servicing
Honda provides a three-year warranty period which includes repairing or replacing of accessories, materials and manufacturing defects. Specific cover is listed as follows:
- Exhaust system corrosion service for 5 years;
- Surface corrosion for 3 years;
- Structural corrosion for 12 years;
- Chassis corrosion for 10 years;
- Integrated Motor Assist servicing for 5 years.
