This page lists all the Electric Cars in 2019 that are available to buy (from new) in the United Kingdom. The cars below are not hybrid vehicles (ones with Petrol & Electric engines) but pure Electric plug-in Cars.

Owning an electric car is slightly different to owning a regular fuel car because you have to charge it regularly. Manufacturers suggest installing a charging point at your home. This allows you to charge your car quicker because it allows more electric to flow through compared to a regular plug socket. A registered electrician will need to do this for you (it will cost around £150). A regular plug socket will do the job but it will just be a lot slower. The charging point is a bit like a mobile phone’s “fast charge.”

There are generous grants available from the UK government when buying a new or second hand Electric Car. This will vary depending on the type of Electric Car you are purchasing. This even applies for second hand Electric Cars. For example I have recently purchased a second hand Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Electric Hybrid) that was a year old. I was given £1,700 towards the purchase.
